Hey all,

Water levels look to be quite a bit lower this year than in years past.  Right now Micos is at late December levels.  El Salto falls is dry, with all the water coming through the hydro plant.  Minas Viejas is barely runnable, Gallinas is medium, Ojo Frio and San Nicolas also medium, Santa Maria is Meduim high.  Usually Sept and Oct bring some monsoon type weather, this year it has only happened in the south.  Hidalgo and Veracruz states are full or water.  If you're thinking of the Huasteca this year try to come as early as possible.  Maybe the next few weeks will bring some more rain.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Also they are constructing a second tube to take water from upper micos.  This will more than likely dry up the big waterfall EL TORO.  The construction is slow but I imagine it will be finished in the spring sometime.  The 5 waterfalls below the plant will still be runnable year round.  Come see us at Hotel Aventura Huasteca in Valles.

Saludos
Aaron
