A Gringo's Guide to Mexican Whitewater, 2nd Edition describes a take-out on the north side of the village of San Ramon.  This take-out works, but some local villagers noted it is used to drive cattle to the river and that there is a better access that they use upstream.  The road at this point is heading away from the river and then it will curve back to follow the river.  Continue, passing a ranch, and then there should be a big sign marking the turn-off to the access.  Take this turn and proceed a short ways to the river.

This access can also be used to run the section down to Llera de Canales which is a class II run.  In Llera, there is a dam just before the highway and the river slows up.  There are plenty of dirt roads that lead to this slow spot where you can take out.

A new highway has been built from Cuidad Victoria to San Luis Potosí.  This cuts through the Sierra Madre north of the Río Guayalejo and south of Ciudad Victoria.  There was a lot of blasting to build the road and it allows avoiding Ciudad Victoria both avoiding traffic and making the shuttle much shorter and faster.
